Platelet Donation Drive: GERM swimmers have been encouraged to donate platelets and NIH or the Red Cross this year. Information for donors has been sent to the whole team.
Promoting Water Safety Fundraiser: We helped spread the word about a swim meet fundraiser for second grade water safety programs in several North Carolina areas of need.
Donating to George Washington University Athletics. GWU Swim Team has been very good to us, providing timers for the 2023 and 2024 Solstice meet that we host.

Sponsoring three kids swim teams in the Montgmery County Swim League: Germantown Masters divided $800 between three MCSL teams with connections to GERM. They are Quince Orchard, Darnestown, and Clarksburg Village Swim Team.

Sponsoring the Northwest H.S. 5K: Northwest PTSA and Booster Club is hosting a 5K. We are proud to be one of the sponsors of the event. Many of our younger swimmers and one of our coaches come from the Northwest HS Swim Team.
Paying the United States Masters Swimming registration fee for 10 brand new swimmers: USMS registration costs $60 per year per swimmer. In order to encourage swimmers who have never before been members to take advantage of all USMS has to offer, our team is paying the $60 fee for brand new swimmers starting in 2022 and indefinitely into the future. To qualify, swimmers need only be brand new to USMS, register for one of our team's coached workouts, and request reimbursement after registering with USMS as a GERM swimmer.

Sponsoring three kids swim teams in the Montgomery County Swim League: Germantown Masters divided $750 among three MCSL teams with connections to GERM. They are Darnestown (the pool that hosts most of our summer workouts), Quince Orchard (long time host of our workouts all year long), and Clarksburg Village (where a number of parents are GERM swimmers).
2020
Charity Auction February 22, 2020: GERM once again provided a free summer of masters swim coached workouts as an auction item for the Housing Benefit Concert at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gaithersburg. The winning bidder will have his or her USMS membership paid for, and will be able to swim with GERM at our summer workouts at QO for free. The money raised at the auction, combined with concert ticket sales (a little more than $5000), will be used to fight homelessness in Gaithersburg, Germantown, and Derwood by helping families stay in their homes, keep the lights on, keep the heat on, or feed their families.

Helping Boy Scouts With Swimming April/May 2019: GERM swimmers Dan Thomas and David Robinson are helping the Scouts from Germantown Troop 489 to pass a swim test, both for a merit badge and for summer camp. They have been doing this for the last few years. Scouts from Troop 489 have been helping GERM at the Solstice Meet by serving as timers.
USMS Swimming Saves Lives July 2019: GERM is hosting a 2K Fitness Challenge and fund-raiser on July 25 to help with a nationwide-effort to raise money for USMS Swimming Saves Lives Foundation. The Foundation's purpose is to teach swimming to adults who don't know how to swim.
In 2018, GERM participated in 5-6 charitable assistance projects, including supporting the Housing Benefit Concert above by providing an auction item, sponsoring two MCSL kids swim teams, helping a Boy Scout Troop with swimming, and sponsoring the Clarksburg 5K (which benefitted the Dwelling Place, Compassion International, and the Clarksburg Community Assistance Newtwork).
