This meet at UMBC in early August gave us 11 new team records set by five of our swimmers. Amy Funk set records in the W35-39 1500m free, 50m fly, and 400m IM Kelly Funk set one in the W35-39 100m breast Lisa Chin set records in the W40-44 100, 200, and 1500m free Jenny Carswell set one in the W50-54 1500m free Karl Wunderlich set records in the M60-64 50, 100 and 200m free. You can now register for fall workouts at Germantown Indoor Swim Center (GISC) in Germantown or Lakewood Country Club (LCC) in Rockville using the buttons on our website (www.germantownmasters.org). GISC will begin September 7 and LCC will begin September 19 after some construction work is completed. Both sessions will end on December 23 as we are now planning to run GISC and LCC workout sessions in the same date range as much as possible. We had a good turnout of 9 swimmers at this June 28th long course (meters) meet. 13 new team records were set. The oldest record broken was held by Lesley Evans since 1997. Luray Swim Fest results are in and GERM was well-represented. Conratulations to first place female overall finisher Lisa Chin, and second place male overall finisher Kempsey Clark. Lisa was first in the 800, 1600, and 2400m swims. Kempsey was second in the 800 and 2400m swims, and fourth in the 1600.
